In this world, I love two things: baseball and cats. Ok, I love a few more things than that, but they don’t have anything to do with this amazing announcement.
Per the New York Post, coming in tandem with the 2015 All-Star Game … the 2015 Paw Star Game!
The event “will feature kittens in baseball outfits batting balls — plus celebrities and baseball stars to cheer the kitties on” and will be broadcast on the Hallmark Channel. My adorabone is already quivering.
Playing baseball with kittens is obviously a take off of the Puppy Bowl and Kitten Bowl events that have run against the Super Bowl in recent years, and I say it’s about damn time baseball got the same kind of cute animal attention. Hopefully Javier Baez and Kris Bryant won’t be making their All-Star Game debuts that year, because beating out the Paw Star Game would be a tough hill to climb.
(I love, by the way, that they need more than a year to develop a baseball game involving kittens, apparently. The 2014 Paw Star Game would have been rushing things. Can’t just throw this kind of culture-changing event together in five months. H/t Hardball Talk on the New York Post piece.)
