Cubs Trivia:

The 1984 National League East champion Cubs had five starting position players acquired from the Phillies in trades, can you name them all?

Difficult Bonus Question - The club also had four pitchers on the team that were acquired from the Phillies in trades, can you name all four?

Dernier
Sandberg
Mathews
Moreland
Bowa

Ruthven
Noles

Aaaaaaaand I'm tapped.

Excuse me, I'll be beating myself up now after looking to see who the other two are.

Outstanding job! Got all five of the position players. Got the two easy pitchers, the other two are pretty obscure.

Well I know I have a 1984 Topps card of Fergie, but I am not sure if he ever threw a pitch that year.
And someone might help me remember a side armed righty Latino with a name similar to Amalfitano... I cannot think of his name.

EDIT... he came over with the Matthews & Dernier trade.

I thought you had one with Brusstar. I guess the right answers all came in trades directly from the Phillies. Hebner was on the team too, but didn't come direct from the Phillies.

I will never be able to come up with his first name. It might have even been funkier than his last name ... Altamoreno????

For the last guy, the only other pitcher I can think of who came directly from the Phillies is Dan Larson, but I'm pretty sure he was already gone.
