Frequently, the 7th and 8th innings are higher leverage situations than beginning the 9th with the bases clear. Do you really want Marmol to come in with RISP and try to hold a lead?

I guess not. I am just thinking that a temporary change in scenery might be good for him.

If it is the cold, perhaps Daytona would be more appropriate.

I just wonder if he's wild when he warms up, or in practice. Or does he practice at 75-80% and only go at 100% during the game. If that's the case then it's no wonder he has so much trouble manitaining the same release point.

I can remember him being super wild before, but I don't remember so many pitches being spiked into the ground in front of the plate.

That's what I mean. It seemed like way more than before.

Plus, Marmol seriously needs to get back into shape. The guy looked way too flabby compared to last year.

I heard Japan is nice this time of year.

I know it is only one game into the year, I am just annoyed and concerned about where this guy will go.

If Marmol comes to Daytona, I may be tempted to have "words" with him while he's in the bullpen.

Would any "fists" be involved with those "words"? ;)

No, but my butt will probably be involved somehow. For example: *Pulls pants down and moons Marmol, "Hey Marmol, my asshole can throw a better slider than you!!!!"

*this probably won't really happen, I particularly enjoy Daytona games. Now, if I get access to Marmol during the Cubs games in Miami in a few weeks, look out.

That might make the highlight reel on ESPN then. :)
