Now this is a nice set of videos to start your day.
First, in case you didn’t follow all 13 innings yesterday, the Chicago Cubs won their fourth in a row courtesy of a walk-off blast from this guy:
Anthony Rizzo is not a bat flip kind of guy, but he did do a nice carry-the-bat-up-the-first-base-line thing. When you drill a walk-off blast, you can pretty much do anything you want.
(Bonus: watching the joy in the celebration at home always makes me smile.)
Soon after Rizzo gave the Cubs a win, Javier Baez – who had missed time after being hit by a pitch in the wrist – reminded folks that he still has stupid power:
You can’t tell for sure because of the camera view, but that looks like a well-placed outside pitch that is tailing away from Baez. He reaches out, and looks like he’s just trying to put solid contact on it – not coming out of his shoes to crush it – and it still leaves the park. The wrist must be feeling pretty good, too, because there was a whole lot of wrist flick in that swing.
