Alright guys lets see who can come up with a clever choice other than Carlos Marmol as closer for the first blank and the second for example: I would trust a blind man giving me directions more than Carlos Marmol closing a game, etc. Fill in the blank: I would rather have__________ than Carlos Marmol as closer. And #2: You can trust________ more than Carlos Marmol closing the 9th inning.

That would actually be really cool to watch. It'd be badass.

I would rather have James Russell than Carlos Marmol as closer. You can trust Marge Schott more than you can trust Carlos Marmol closing in the 9th.

Rather have Carlos Marmol as closer, I'd prefer Cy Young (Yes, I realize he is dead). You can trust a politician more than you can trust Carlos Marmol closing in the 9th.

I would rather have (a "committee" of "closers") than Carlos Marmol as closer.

One time a guy on my team hit a line drive right into his leg it was great.

When Garza comes back into the rotation, this Marmol situation becomes more of a quagmire. Obviously, Feldman would move to long relief, and Takahashi would be the only odd man out if Marmol indeed has to stay on the roster. Right now, his trade value is at an all-time low. At this point, if the Yankees want Marmol, I would take a catcher in return (like JR Murphy) and eat 75% of his contract.

At some point you just have to release Marmol and eat the sunk cost that is his contract. If he's still pitching like this when Garza comes back I think that's a real possibility. But I can definitely see the scenario where Carlos regains his command and reclaims the closer role.

In my 12" mens league last year the other team had a guy who was using a walker to get around the bases. Sadly he was playing in his last game because he was going to get his leg amputated so even though he's not suppose to use the walker we were nice and let him since we felt bad. All we had to do was let him hit the ball to anybody on the field and easily throw him out at 1st. (He also had a bad limp while using the walker) Not once, but TWICE the pitcher walked him! His easy out became any extra runner on base since he would get pinch ran for. That's how I feel about Marmol sometimes how I felt with my softball pitcher."Like really? did you just do that.. again?"

That's how I see it too. it will get even dicier when Baker is back. Someone will get the boot. If Fuji cant handle it hopefully Rondon can step up he definitely has the stuff just needs more control sadly just like Marmol. Wheres Angel Guzman when you need him??? damn random arm injuries that ruins careers!!

If we are really trying to win games this year and not just have a chance every 4th or 5th game then Jeff Samardja. Secondly I would trust Phil Regan at his age today more than Carlos Marmol.
