Well, you’ve done it. Step one in the BN Blogathon is complete, and I’ll now be forced to blog for 30 straight hours – no breaks or sleep or relaxing spa visits – at the MLB Trade Deadline from July 30 to 31.
That’s because, thanks to your incredible generosity, we’ve donated more than $6,000 to Make-A-Wish to support their efforts to grant the wishes of children with life-threatening medical conditions to enrich the human experience with hope, strength and joy. Our goal is to sponsor the wishes of young Cubs fans, and that $6,000 is enough to adopt one wish. That’s the cutoff at which I said I’d give you 30 hours of coverage.
And you did it in just one week. You’re amazing. Thank you.
But we can do more and you can GET more! I’ll tack on another hour for every extra $1,000 you donate. If the final figure tops $12,000 – enough to sponsor two wishes – I’ll blog for 37 straight hours at the deadline. That’s one hour longer than I did last year, which I can tell you was not easy.
So make a donation to a great cause and deprive me of sleep! I’m happy to offer it!
I’ve added another offer (about which I have mixed emotions … ): if you really blow it out and donate $15,000, I will do the entire Blogathon in this hat:
(P.S. – it glows in the dark.)
So dig deep folks. Do it for the young Cubs fans you can help. Do it for yourself to make a real, positive impact on another person in this world.
And do it so that you get to watch me wilt under the pressure and exhaustion on July 31. I’m getting better and better at creating videos – don’t you want to see what I come up with on no sleep and 15 pounds of caffeine?
