I am currently blogging – here, on Facebook, and on Twitter (hash tag #BNBlogathon for those who want to jump into the fray themselves) – for 37 hours straight, until slightly past MLB’s July 31 non-waiver Trade Deadline, thanks to your generous donations (more than $15,000) to Make-A-Wish. I’ll be doing recaps on the process throughout the day, but you’ll also see normal posting (Bullets, news, Pre-Gamin’, EBS), as well as a significant uptick in rumor/trade posts.
The overnight hours have arrived, and it’s time to get weird. The next live stream is in a couple hours (2am CT), and the Vines are necessarily bizarre. C’est la Blogathon.

News and Rumors Since the Last Recap:
The Cubs lost in extras to the Rockies. It was exciting to see Luis Valbuena tie things up with a bomb, but he couldn’t do it again it the 10th. And there was a late night Lukewarm Stove to peruse.
Most Interesting Tidbit Since the Last Recap:
Mostly it’s the fact that, despite sitting out the game expressly for trade rumor reasons, Emilio Bonifacio is still on the Cubs. Not that there’s a rush to pull off a deal, it’s just gotta be a little awkward.
Current Thoughts About the Chicago Cubs’ Trade Deadline Strategy/Execution:
No real change here. I’ll be curious if anything – Cubs or MLB – breaks overnight. There have actually been some really interesting things in the wee hours over the years. The Soriano-rejects-Giants thing was a 2am report a couple years ago, and the super-secret Diamondbacks trade meeting thing was a 4am thing.
Current Beverage/Stimulant of Choice:
It’s important for me to say that I don’t endorse using, and I am not using, drugs. That said, I have allergy issues. Sufficiently bad that I get allergy shots, have a nasal spray, and take a decongestant. The thing on that last one: it kind of gets me a little jittery if I have it too late in the day. So, I typically take it first thing in the morning, and my sleep that night is thus unaffected. I just took today’s dose one hour ago.
Number of Failed Attempts to Re-Collar Our Feistiest Cat:
Still 3. I actually haven’t seen that cat since the last update. She wise to my ways.
Also, cats:

Hat Status:
Starting to bend the brim a bit. Just a bit.
Strangest Thought Passing Through My Mind:
What other ‘LOST’ scenes can I get the cats to act out?

If news breaks at 3 am and no one is up to read @BleacherNation blog about it, did it really happen? #BNBlogathon
