(Ok, so this isn't the actual calendar entry for today.  My calendar is at work but I figured I'd still offer up a trivia question.)

In 1908, the Cubs had 19 home runs as a team (which was league average), who lead the team in HR and how many did he (or she!) hit?

Margeret Thatcher-- she hit 9 after deciding to use the first (and only) completely iron bat in baseball.  After the season the rules were changed, but her nickname stuck.

I think it was Tinker, and he only had around 5 homeruns.

Bonus Question:

In 1920, how many TEAMS were out-homered by Babe Ruth?

So close...

The Philadelphia Phillies out-homered Ruth by 6.  To show how epic he was that year, he had an OPS+ of 255.

Interesting tidbit.  Despite out slugging the rest of the league, the Yankees did not appear in the World Series.
