The Cubs ripped the Brewers again tonight, though it may have come at a cost: Starlin Castro left the game early after sliding awkwardly into home, his left leg tangling up under his right. It has been termed, for now, a sprained ankle – and Castro was able to limp off under his own power – but we’ll see how long he’s out, and what further investigation reveals as to the extent of the damage. It’s a real shame, though, as Castro had been hitting everything.
As to the rest of the game, it was a beautiful combination of great pitching, big offense, and the Brewers screwing up repeatedly.
Arismendy Alcantara hit yet another homer, and Jorge Soler and Javier Baez just missed one of their own. This team, man. It just keeps looking decently good in the second half.
And the Brewers continue to wilt.
