Well, I’ve had a hot minute to digest the bummer news about Starlin Castro, and am ready to put on my silver lining hat: at least Castro will have a very long time to recover, and now the Cubs can get extra looks at various young infielders at a variety of positions.
The Cubs are going for the sweep of the former division-leading Brewers, who are currently riding a seven-game losing streak. Ouch.
Matt Garza takes the mound for the Brewers tonight in a return from injury, and the Cubs players have been told that they should totally not bunt the ball directly to him.
Kyle Hendricks starts for the Cubs, fresh on the heels of being named the NL’s Rookie of the Month for August. Good on you, Kyle.
