Yeesh. Another beat down in Toronto. The Cubs were up 2-0 when I headed to my office to record BNTV. I came out and Toronto was just adding its 8th and 9th runs.
Jake Arrieta pitched fairly well, especially when you consider that all he did to earn his second earned run was give up a one-out single with nobody on base in the 7th. He was pulled, and bullpen utterly imploded from there (including Neil Ramirez, who was obviously jinxed by this morning’s Bullets).
Offensively, the Cubs were fairly limited again, save for a bunch of hits that didn’t lead to runs, and one big silver lining (EDIT: bah, meant to highlight the stolen base, too) …
