Here's hoping that it was the right move for Rizzo to try and score there.

Was that really a TOOTBLAN?  Or did the ball just beat him to the plate?

It's a TOOTBLAN under the strict TOOTBLAN rules.

Wow.  A Cubs pitcher managed to throw it to Rizzo, not into the stands?

Things are looking up!

Hmm.  I'll have to look em up for a refresher.  Seems an unfortunate application of the rule.

(But I'm listening, not watching, so I didn't see the whole play unfold.)

Here's hoping this helps: “In short, it is any out a runner makes on the basepaths while attempting to take an extra base - whether advancing from second to third on a ground out (with no runner on first); attempting to stretch a single into a double, a double into a triple, and so on; or getting thrown out while advancing on a flyball. It also applies to base runners who are picked off or who are doubled out on a line drive.” …

I'm at the bar again, and I can't complain about these Padres broadcasts. Kelly Crull is an AMAZING reporter.

WOW! Five pitch inning for Feldman.

Can't remember a Cub with a five pitch inning.

I mean, I know we're talking about "made up" stats here, but getting doubled off on a line drive isn't always the baserunner's fault, nor does attempting to score/take a base off of a fly ball.

But whatevs...

Let's take advantage of the free base runners.

Yeah.  "Amazing".

I don't mind Enberg, but the rest of that broadcast team are awwwwwful.  Those two sideline fools (Crull and whatshisfuckingname) are just babbling pretties.  Whenever I'd watch a SD game, Enberg or his color guy would ask one of the sideline reporters a question, and it seemed like they were paying *absolutely* no attention.
