Top universe prospect Kris Bryant has won just about every award possible this year (except the Silver Slugger, which by rule may not go to anyone affiliated with the Chicago Cubs, apparently), and he’s adding something else to the front of his refrigerator: the love of people who think he’s awesome for doing something very cool for a fan on Twitter.
David Just has the full story at the Sun-Times, and there’s another version at MLB.com – you’ll want to read them to start your day off with a big smile. The short version is summed up in these two Twitter exchanges:
@mk9577 you don't need to buy it! What do you want? I'll send it to you!

@mk9577 850 bucks?! That's ridiculous! I'll send one to you. DM me your address!

And the resulting surprise for Mike?

I have heard numerous accounts, behind the scenes, of Bryant’s awesomeness to fans. This one obviously became fairly public, but I can tell you that Bryant wasn’t doing it for the attention. It’s just the way he is. Cubs fans are lucky to have this guy as a rising star for so many reasons.
Good on you, Kris Bryant. Now, folks, please don’t deluge him with free stuff requests.
