It's early in the season, but here are some stats... guess who's who:

It's gotten to the point where I no longer refer to him as "Failbuena" he's really making the FO and Sveum look really smart for sticking with him

Everyone laughed at his hot start in the winter leagues this year. Some guys really are late bloomers or need the opportunity to play everyday i.e., they are not bench players.

 

I think Dave Sappelt is someone like that and he just rots on the bench, but from a management standpoint, you can't deal with his splits vs. righties to justify a starting job.

 

Back to Valbuena; if Vitters heats up in AAA like he did last year, I think he'll end up playing LF vs. RHP and 3B vs. LHP after trades and such.

I am becoming somewhat of a belierver in Valbuna, but more as an above average 3B/2B. Rather absurd to compare him to a guy who could be the next Rickey Henderson. Or what I had expected Corey Patterson to become many, many years ago :(
