I haven't been on the message board for quite some time, so somebody may have already started this discussion, but I really wanted to start to keep track of the fantastic advertising I have seen on BN.   I realize that Brett only sells the space, and then doesn't neccesarrily control the content, which makes the ads even better.    Lately, I seem to be alternating between the Twin Peaks Bikini Competition ad and the Older Women Looking for Love ad.   Any other favorites out there?

Right now, I have a Blackberry, Stihl & McDonalds Big Mac ads on the screen.

#1 never searched for a blackberry before and haven't searched for a phone for 1 1/2 years.

#2 I'll take that one since I sometimes search for more tools.

#3 I despise them.

A cool ad I get sometimes is to a to a t-shirt site with tons of interesting shirts. 6 dollar shirts or something like that.

I also get the $6 shirts one a lot, and I actually checked them out: there are a ton of really funny shirts there. I was kind of shocked.

Right now I've got a local casino, a dating site, and a server company. The dating site ones are always interesting to me - I can't think of anything I look at that would make me a target, except perhaps that there's just a connection between "guys" and "dating sites." They can tell I'm a guy (probably) because of all of the sports.

That's what I figured with the dating ads. Of course, they could be noticing the She-View series as well.

I always seem to get the older or mature women dating ads. Maybe those are just the only ones I notice - and it's not because I find them particularly pleasant to look at either. I guess they've figured out that I'm an old guy who likes sports and therefore old loose women?

Here's a hint for them: I only care about baseball and the more Cubbish, the more I care.

The She-view explains the asian mail-order bride ad, I guess. Thanks. I honestly couldn't figure that out.

It is getting a little not-so-safe-for-work though. I had a collegue walk in on me during a Cubs-break this AM and the older woman pic had just opened. What I wouldn't have given for a crappy Big Mack.

All I get are ads for Bay Area medical marijuana facilities and concert releases from the Grateful Dead archives.

I don't get it.

I get ads for kegerators and brew supplies (DUH) and large amount of Michigan universities that offer MBA (I have been doing research on getting my Masters in Education so I guess that makes sense).  My favorite are a series of ads I get for a local country club that is offering a summer pool pass... for $1000 I doubt they'd allow a goat in the pool, plus why pay for a pool when I have Lake Michigan for free.

But at work its all about dating sites and "near" porn sites so I'm guessing that is the default since I search work through the Chrome incognito mode so it has no history.  Goes to show what advertising things of the people that visit baseball blog sites.

I'm very upset.  I just got an ad for cardinals tickets.  Maybe it has to do with being in st louis for the past week and a half but still unacceptable.
