As most of you know (yes, ad nauseum) I wrote a book.  If all goes well(and so far it is doing pretty well) I have some ideas for follow ups...I have a Chicago Bears idea all propped up and ready to go, but this summer I plan on working on a follow up to BBCG104Reasons regarding the Cubs..(I plan on starting my Bears book next winter/spring, unless they win the Super Bowl, then I am kind of screwed)...I have some more Cubs' thoughts in my head, but I was looking to my fellow BNer's for any ideas on topics you might like to see researched, as that is the bulk of the work that goes into a book like the one I just completed...so please feel free...what kind of Cubs info would you liked to see analyzed and wrapped up in a nice little package?

thanks again, this never would have happened with all of you here at BN

Is the Bears book going to be like the Cubs one?

yes...the Bears book will be  the same style as the Cubs' book...assuming they don't win this year...it's 85 Mistakes Since 1985...of course the drafts could take up about 84 of them...it's gonna be another bitch to write like this one was...and no way I could get it out by football season...so I am looking at NFL opening day 2014....I have until next April for my Cubs' follow up...

be cool to dig up the cubs biggest draft failures, things like who they passed up since the rookie draft began. i know bits of info are out there but to see all of the chances they had and failed to pull the trigger would have been cool

Better get cookin' on that Bears book.  Trestman is taking us to the promised land, Chris!

As for an interesting book on the Cubbies - I think it would be interesting to hear about the best players that we've traded for and away over the years, and what the trade pieces were.  Maybe discuss what the team would have looked like if the bad trades hadn't happened?  Pretty broad idea, I suppose.

Most lopsided deals in favor of the Cubs?  The guy the Cubs traded for him (Ray Burris) had a 6.18 ERA in 15 appearances before being released by the Yankees.

The Bears win that Superbowl vs. Colts if it's not played in a hurricane.
