Although expensive I think the FA would be the right age and ability to build a team around, As for fielder you can always trade him to an american league team when his defense starts to slide or when Vogolbach is ready. Would also like to see Byrd and Zambrano traded at the deadline if possible when their trade value Is higher. The pitching would make it an interesting year while the young lineup matured through the year. Just a thought.

I don't mean to dump on you, MC2, but folks who think that DeRosa has a place on any ML roster these days haven't looked at his numbers since 2008. He's been a terrible, injured mess, and will be lucky to receive a non-roster invite to Spring Training this year.
Not dumping on me, it's my dream team. Invite DeRosa if he's healthy and can show it at ST maybe we get him on the cheap like Reed Johnson. Veteran leadership and a versatile player. Looking at the FA list and all the stats may not hurt to go cheap and let some of these kids get their time in. I don't think pitching is to far off right now just need more solid depth and somebody that handles pitchers better. Biggest thing is get these guys to play small ball 1st, I got so sick of leaving men in scoring position all season long... ...

Sign Fielder, Cespedes, trade Marmol and Soto for high level prospects flip them for Gio Gonzalez. I would love to see them get Darvish but with other moves not sure they have enough money for him. If they did that would be on hell of a pitching staff.
Darvish
Gio
Garza
Big Z
Dempster
