It's a pitches duel.  Who will "blink" first.   Cubs had a chance to throw sand in Cueto's face, but no dice.  Castro's double lost.

Don't know if it's a good sign or not but the Cubs don't score first.

One more run for the Big Red Machine and I'll call this one over.

Garden needs to be tilled anyway.

Garza has lost his head a little bit. Going 3-0 against Cueto is just plain mental. He's about to get run out of the game if he can't get his shit right.

He hasn't looked as crisp tonight as the other night, part of that is cincy just being good, and Garza just having a little bit of an off day.

I never like walking the bases loaded. Especially as much as Choo has been struggling of late. But, we'll see.

Cueto no Big Z. Z would of snapped that bat like a tooth pick.

7 losses in a row, and if you notice, the pitching staff is cooling a little, when they aren't awesome, this team has no chance.

Intentionally Walking the bases loaded is fucking stupid. It puts too much pressure on the pitcher to make the perfect pitch, so you start aiming instead of pitching. Boom, hit. Just not the right call in any situation unless a very, very weak hitting pitcher is next up.

Me thinks (once again) this one is over.  Anemic hitting continues to linger over this roster.  What else is new, right?

I'm still hoping there are roster moves (via trades, DFA's, etc.) AND that the minor league prospects tagged to come up are brought up to hone and develop their play under ML conditions.  ML ready?  Bring-'em up and see how they do.  Makes sense to me.

Question:   Why don't the Cubs make Russell a starter?  He'd be another lefty that could bolster the rotation.
