What's with the Cubs choosing managers whose names aren't pronounced the way they look, by the way?

I still dont know whether is "Qu- aid" or "Quadey". Guess I will never know.

It's pronounced "Canned".
HTH.

I'd never seen "HTH." Thanks for introducing me to that.

(which is kind of an irony, eh?)

Imagine if we did hire Sandberg last year and he had the same kind of season. Would we as Cubs fans be mad that Theo came in and fired a fan favorite ( that is if he is at that point still), instead of the rejoicing of Quades firing? I'm imagining a whole different attitude if Sandberg was the choice last year.

If Ryno came in and made the exact same decisions (or non-decisions) that Quade made? Yeah, I'm sure there'd be plenty of people clamoring for his exit. I expect I'd be one of them, and my opinion of his would be crushed because there were innumerable terrible, horrible, no good, very bad decisions made by Quade last year. But if Ryno came in and made a bunch of different decisions and the Cubs ended up 70-ish and 90-ish? Who knows. It's a pretty ridiculous question, really.

Sentimentality doesn't win baseball games.

Yea but we had no attatchment what so ever with Quade. Which makes it easier to brush him off into the never ending pit of coaches that have failed in chicago. Sentimentality doesn't win baseball games, I do agree with that, but us Cub fan's do worship our legend's and I think this would be harder to swallow.

Oh well! Serves Ryno right for refusing to give me a autograph at a Reading Phillies game when he was inducted into their HOF. Bastard!!

Then you must have a daughter with a serious flu which you inherited and now you've been too sick to work, but you have to because reports are due on Monday and you have 8 hours of driving tomorrow.
