If the Cubs take Bryant here... Assman was right again.

Cubs have been hitting the phones hard for the past week and had a deal they were getting close on, but DeJesus injury has put discussions on hold…

Damn that sucks, not because I am anxious to get rid of Dejesus or because I think he'll net a major return, but because now that the draft is over there isn't much to be excited for.

Last year we had Rizzo pushing, vitters and bjax knocking on the door (finally), dempsters scoreless streak, and idk Castro hitting for a bit of power. I just want something to be excited about.

Who knows maybe Bryant will get going sooner rather than later and some top guys get some nice promotions.

Two more in the Padres trade article.

Gammons tweet is not accurate. Padres are talking to the about SP’s but not Garza…

Cubs are interested in 3 prospects in SD and Padres are scouting Cubs’ SP extensively, but not just Garza. Gammons is an idiot…

I'm sure the Cubs could land three quality prospects for Feldman alone.  Maybe the Padres are making a push for Samardzija?

What if Assman was Peter Gammons?! He kinda has that Kramer look to him..

I'd hate to see the Shark go, he can gnaw the hide off a ball just staring at the plate and not even notice it. The Cubs need more of that. But Assman used the word "extensively"... And I know what that word meant to my college girlfriend, and it didn't stop at Wood..

I'd love to trade Feldman and then sign him again next year. Wood and Feldman in the 9 hole add another dimension to our offense!

Wood

.258/.303/.484/.787, 1 SAC

Feldman

.194/.194/.355/.548, 1 SAC

Samardzija

.111/.143/.259/.402, 7 SAC

Villanueva

.176/.176/.176/.353, 2 SAC

Jackson

.091/.130/.136/.267, 2 SAC

I LOVE that the Angels and Dodgers are a combined 19 games under.

At first glance, it appears that last year's free agency class is as bad as the previous year's was good.

Makes the Cubs moves (sans Jackson) look even better in hindsight.

I wasn't thrilled by the Jackson signing (although, at the time I think it was more because of the spurn by Sanchez) but the struck gold on Feldman, Schierholtz, DeJesus, Valbuena, Gregg...

Rangers prefer Garza and his stock his off the charts right now, even higher than I thought. Scouts are all thumbs up on his recovery…Cubs could blow up entire rotation in the next 30 days…

Damn you for beating me to it.  If only Garza had done this last year...
