What's stopping someone from posting as assman? He doesn't have a picture right?

Ace would know.

Aren't they one in the same?

I think once you make a comment, your name is linked to your email address so you have to know the address to post under the name

If assman IS a Cubs FO executive, I'm sure he's smart enough to post through a proxy.

Incorrect. I could post with your name, I just wouldn't have your avatar.

^Yup. And he doesn't have an avatar IIRC so anyone can post as Assman. Maybe i'll go do it now, and see if anybody bites.

Which, the only way to really verify what he is saying is if Clifton signs and Bryant gets less than originally reported.

Well he did say Gammons is an idiot so he's 100% correct with that insider information.

I'd be wary of acquiring Bauer.  Being traded from two teams as a prospect does not reflect well upon one's makeup and attitude.  I'd hold out for a package containing a combination of Danny Salazar, Tony Wolters (especially if we package Navarro with Garza as rumored), Tyler Naquin, and Francisco Lindaur

I dont see them giving Lindor. He is probably the best defensive SS in the minors and the bat has been good too

If Navarro is thrown in (he can catch Garza and platoon with Giambi at DH--1.521 OPS hitting right handed this season), it's possible.

Not really.  If anyone is untouchable in that Indian's system, it's Lindor.  Naquin and Salazar might be on the table, but I'd take Bauer of any of them.

Too much is made by Bauer's allegedly bad attitude.  Arizona flatly mishandled him, and Arizona is generally known be run by a not-great office.  Remember, that's the organization that actually dealt something worthwhile for Tony Campana.  Cleveland is going for it now, and Bauer just isn't ready for the majors now.  That's not a knock on Bauer - a lot of prospect need time.

If there is anyone in the game who can harness Bauer's immense talents and shape him into a major league ace, it is probably Derek Johnson.  If Cleveland is desperate enough to give up on one of the best pitching prospects in baseball after just a few months, I'd be more than happy to take him off their hands.
