The hand-operated center field scoreboard at Wrigley Field is 75 feet wide and 27 feet tall.

When did the Cubs RUIN tradition and build it?

And was still operated by the electricians son until not too long ago. Or, maybe he still is doing it.

And what pro golfer used a 2 iron to hit a golf ball over that same scoreboard?

That Snead thing never seemed like such an amazing feat to me. More reckless than anything amazing.

Didn't Roy Hobbs smash the clock?

I don't believe it. Nobody can hit a 2 iron.

I can hit a 2 iron -- or any iron you want me to hit -- with a full swing -- without a divot... I can then catch that same ball I just swung and hit - before it hits the ground (on the fly). Just need two tries to do it. I usually brag about my speed first and then make the bet. I've won many $50 bets on that. They usually select a 3 or 4 iron for me (since I never carried a 2 iron in my bag). But the club doesn't matter - it just has to be an iron.

I'm thinking that figuring out how Spriggs does this should be our next all-day long Puzzler.

Is albatros involved?

This better not be a freekin one-armed man.

Is the back of the iron used to strike the ball?
