So I know that the Cubs aren't really in a position to spend money on bullpen help next year. I get that. So this doesn't even have to just apply to them, but I'm starting to think that Tim Lincecum could be a very attractive FA next year... as a closer.
He was electric last year in the playoffs coming from the pen. He has really good stuff and when he can really rear back and throw it could become dominant, again.
Personally, I wouldn't mind the Cubs taking a flyer on him, for the bullpen role, if the price is right. I don't know how willing he'd be to move to that role, but it could be a good fit for him, imo. Am I crazy or could this actually be a good fit?
