This would be an insane order in 2015

1. [S] Alcantara 2B - 10.0/21.0 BB/K%, .179 ISO, .372 wOBA (AA)

2. [R] Soler LF - 8.9/16.1 BB/K%, .186 ISO, .362 wOBA (A+)

3. [R] Bryant 3B - 22.4/19.3 BB/K%, .520 ISO, .530 wOBA (college)

4. [R] Stanton RF - 11.9/24.6 BB/K%, .245 ISO, .373 wOBA (MLB)

5. [L] Rizzo 1B - 10.1/17.8 BB/K%, .201 ISO, .334 wOBA (MLB)

6. [R] Baez SS - 6.0/22.8 BB/K%, .213 ISO, .386 wOBA (A+)

7. [S] Saltalamacchia C - 8.8/34.6% BB/K%, .212 ISO, .348 wOBA (MLB)

8. [R] Almora CF - 5.1/13.1 BB/K%, .141 ISO, .444 wOBA (A)

I am a huge fan of signing Salty. Keep Wellington to play vs LHP and have Salty vs RHP but were asking alot to be a competing team in 2015 while relying on 5 guys who havent had an AB beyond AA. That is a lot of growth in a year and a half, plus that is assuming they all pan out

We could trade for Jose Iglesias from the Red Sox for pitching, I'm sure Bogaerts will get put on the roster in time for the playoffs. That would replace Alcantara in that lineup.

Szczur, Lake, and Ha could replace Almora in that lineup.

Schierholtz for one more year (if he could play LF), would replace Soler in that lineup, as well as Valbuena at 3B for another year.

2014:

2B Iglesias

3B Valbuena (L) / Vitters

RF Stanton

LF Schierholtz (L) / Hairston

1B Rizzo (L)

SS Castro

C Saltalamacchia (S) / Castillo

CF Szczur / Lake

Maybe Loria's stupidity could be our gain?  He has proven that he doesn't know how to hold onto talent.  This could greatly benefit us.

@Mike Taylor how can we have a lineup that would include Stanton, Baez, Soler, Almora, and Bryant?  I believe a few of those would need to be traded.   I really see Asdrubal Cabrera going to the Cards this deadline and Stanton to the Mariners in the offseason.  I don't think the cubs will bite on Price even though I would love to have him (I trust the front office a lot more then my fantasy baseball skills lol)

Castro, Wood, Jackson, Vizcaino, Vogelbach, and Christian Villanueva could land Stanton.

Are we really willing to cut ties with Villanueva now?  I thought he could be a bridge player while we get Bryant up there.

It's not like there isn't other third base options. There's actually quite a few. Valbuena could hold down fort for another year or so. There is also Lake, maybe Vitters, maybe even Baez. Plus, how much further along is Villanueva then Bryat anyways

I think the front office, although happy with their return from Texas last year, prefer Kris Bryant over Christian Villanueva and feel that Bryant's bat will put him in the big leagues faster than Villanueva's glove.

Why on earth would we put Iglesias at second even if we were daft enough to trade for him? He's maybe the best defensive SS in the game.

I am still wait and see approach for CV.  Would hate to let him go after basically just getting him though.  Bryant could be really good, but we don't know yet.  That's why wait and see works best in this case.

If the Cubs trade Garza to Texas, I know it may not be a realistic return, but I wouldn't mind seeing C.J. Edwards included.
