Wow, quite the emotional rollercoaster I've been on the past 30 hours. I went from trading for Trout in the BNFL and elated, to perturbed it was going to be vetoed, to happy I could work out a new deal, to pissed my chances of getting Trout vanishing. It's the Ryan Dempster saga all over again...just with trout (I was paying handsomely for trout but I really wanted him). Glass cage of emotions fits well.

What Cubs player led the NL in stolen bases for three consecutive seasons? Bonus points if you can get the years.

I'll take a Chance...

1907-1909

I was offered Trout, but the cost was gutting my pitching staff.

I offered a compromise.

I appreciate it.  I'm far less pissed now that I have vented and cooled off, but the emotional roller-coster has been interesting.

Chance is wrong and ya, I didn't like I had to give up picks AND Webster but damn I want Trout (and I want to get rid of Cano)

Does it upset you that I embed multiple quotes in my replies?

Cuyler is right and the years are 1928-1930.  Close enough!

Stults, Hellickson and Trout for Lynn, Strasburg and Trumbo would have been vetoed much quicker than yours.

I guess I am doing the fantasy trades all wrong.  To me, that seems like a reasonable-ish (without knowing more than the first-glance at the names value of the peripheral guys) trade.

The one trade I saw that was nearly completed for Trout featured a couple good but not great guys (one of whom is having a career year) for Trout.  That's the issue I've been having trading away Cano, I'm giving up the best 2B in the game and wanting a good player plus a couple picks is pegging his value as above the moon.

Maybe this is why I don't do many trades.

It really is ridiculous and I'm starting to let myself get riled up again after seeing the previous price on Trout (not that I overpaid, just that someone legitimately vetoed my trade because they were comparing the two (basically, it was as much (if not more) of an underpay as mine was an overpay)).

I'm definitely not having as much fun with it this year (and I'm in 1st place). I don't know if everybody has synced their cycles or not, but things since the start of the year have been a little testy.

I haven't traded yet in this league.  Just too loss averse, I suppose.  And a complete lack of faith in myself to evaluate trades.

I really didn't see Hellickson (Heart strings were tugged at for the Iowa boy...) and Stults being keepers or contributing much if I did keep them.  It's basically Trout for Strasburg, Lynn and Trumbo.  Trout is an amazing talent, but I can't see him being worth those three older-than-Trout-but-not-by-much guys.

It does get tiring when every trade not involving schlubs is a giant freekin deal.  I've attempted 4 trades this year and only 1 of them didn't involve me explaining myself.  (note to self: stop explaining yourself)

Well, the reason I said that is that in the external environment there are negative and positive factoids that impact the way we carry ourselves through the metaphysical space.  Without cosmic rays, life may never have happened.
