But, they think the asking price is too high.

Top 10, I can only see us going after

#2, Kevin Gausman (who has struggled as a starter in MLB)

#4, Eduardo Rodriguez (possibly to take Russell's spot)

#6, L.J. Hoes (because he walks a bunch)

Gausman was probably rushed to the majors a little too fast.

Tim Berry and Brenden Webb as throw-ins would be great in a deal.

I think Berry and Webb are both going to break out soon.

Rockies, Padres, and Giants are in on Garza now, too.

Rockies:

#3 Chad Bettis RHSP, AA

#15 Corey Dickerson, OF, MLB

#20 Tom Murphy, C, A

Padres

#4 Austin Hedges, C A+

#6 Joe Wieland, RHSP, MLB (60DL-elbow injury)

#12 Joe Ross, RHSP, A

Giants

#1 Kyle Crick, RHSP, A+

#9 Eric Surkamp, LHSP, AAA

Rockies trade I would have no interest in. Padres I like because I think Hedges will be an absolute stud and his defense is already MLB ready. Also a fan of the Giants deal as well. I would like either Crick or Blackburn

I would like the deal with the Padres. Everybody keeps harping on getting back pitching which yes we need and I also think they need to aquire but getting a high quality catching prospect as Hedges would be a fantastic move. Look at the teams winning the World Series lately besides the Phillies in 08 they all have a great catcher. Cubs should really start to compete in 2015 and should make a run at a championship in 2016 and beyond if our position prospects Baez,Almora,Bryant,Soler make a impact with the team and Castro and Rizzo are producing. They should have Wood, Jackson, Samardzija in the rotation. So we are now looking at 2-3 starters needed ( I hope Jackson is not in the rotation ) but in next years draft should be a high pick with lots of pitchers dominating the draft that could be 1 starter who could be ready around 2015-2016. What I'm saying is if one or two guys can pan out from last years and this years draft along with FA there is no reason to handcuff the team in absolutely needing a top pitching prospect back for Garza if the value isn't there go positional we can always trade prospects for pitching when we start contending.

Rockies want Feldman and Gregg now instead of Garza... Same deal, I say:

#3 Chad Bettis RHSP, AA

#15 Corey Dickerson, OF, MLB

#20 Tom Murphy, C, A

2015

CF Nate McLouth (L) / Jae-Hoon Ha

RF Jorge Soler

1B Anthony Rizzo (L)

3B Kris Bryant

LF Corey Dickerson (L) / Junior Lake

2B Javier Baez

C Jarrod Saltalamacchia (S) / Welington Castillo

SS Starlin Castro

Looks like a contender to me...

Still wouldn't be a huge fan of that deal and I hope the Cubs stay away from McClouth. Ya he has been solid last year but that is ignoring the last 3 or 4 years where he was barely a bench guy

I would love the O's to be the trade partners.  I really like Gausman.  Although, yes, he was really rushed by the O's.
