My cousin is a HUGE Red Sox fan. We played GM this morning and came up with a pretty solid trade between the two teams.

Cubs trade:

Garza

Javy Baez

Red Sox trade:

Will Middlebrooks

Matt Barnes

Cody Kukuk

I'd be SO good with that trade. Thoughts?

MiddleBrooks has been slumping so bad this season that I rather have Baez. But Garza for Barnes and Kukuk is good.

No way. Middlebrooks has very little value, and using him as the centerpiece of a Garza trade, no thanks. Baez for Barnes, no thanks as well.  Even though Baez has some issues, you could get so much more than Barnes, who is struggling in AA right now.

Middlebrooks' approach is about as bad as Baez. Id stick with Baez and hope he can learn something along the way

I would trade Garza for Brentz and Swihart.

It is a shame that Middlebrooks isn't owning like he did last year.  If he was playing like he did last year, then I would be all for this trade.

He had a 13/70 BB/K rate last year (9/60 this year) and his BABIP was 335. There was no way that his numbers were going to stay that high. he has power but is going to struggle if he keeps that BB/K rate

I know, but ignorance is beautifully bliss. ;)
