Congratulations to Bobby Valentine on landing a highly sought after Red Sawx managerial job, you couldn't be a better fit for a organization in chaos. Anyone want to start a pool on how soon they replace him?

That whole process was such a fiasco - I don't care how they try to spin it. Cherington picked the guy he wanted, and was overruled. Then, the real bosses picked the guy they wanted, who wasn't even on Cherington's list.

Cherrington has to realize he is now fourth in the decision making order:
Henry to Larry Lou to BobbyV to Cherington.
I wouldn't be surprised if Ben is gone by next year unless the Sox go deep in the playoff.

Who do you think ESPN will ask for in compensation?

Wow. Bobby V is a tool and is going to the perfect place. I'll enjoy the nuclear fallout from here.
Peg: Oh Al! Did you miss me?
Al: With every bullet, so far.

Honestly believe that if Cherrington had half the power Theo did in Boston the whole compensation deal would have been done already. They are just trying to get something for nothing, Theo would have been gone after next year and their excuse for not extending his contract would have been the collapse this year anyway. Larry's not going anywhere his hand is stuck in Henry's pocket, and probably his front one at that!

Bobby V = bucketful of bad karma for Boston.

I almost feel bad for Cherington. I would absolutely feel bad for him except that he was in the organization before this whole mess started, so he should have known what kind of tools he would be working for.
Please don't feed the psychos.

ESPN is now reporting that Boston is demanding Dan Patrick as compensation for hiring Valentine.

I think this has the potential to be a major disaster for Boston. If/when this blows up, I'll sit back and laugh at them because their fans and front office are so out of touch. I do feel bad for Cherington. His first choice was Farrell who the Jays wouldn't give up, then Maddux backed out of the search, and then Svuem pretty much picked one of the worst teams in baseball over them. Now they are stuck with Bobby V. I wonder if they didn't put him through the interview process for the sole reason that no one wanted to be stuck in a room with him for that long.
