It’s the rare Spring night game as the Cubs head to Salt River Fields to take on the Diamondbacks. Edwin Jackson gets a chance to build on his previous start, and show everyone – the Cubs or possible suitors – that he’s as solid as one can be in Spring Training.
The cool thing about tonight’s game is that not only is it televised, but if you have CSN Chicago, they’re broadcasting the game commercial-free – instead, they’ll show Cubs-related special features between innings.
If you don’t have CSN, you can watch on MLB.tv.
The Cubs lineup:
- Dexter Fowler, CF
- Chris Coghlan, LF
- Starlin Castro, SS
- Anthony Rizzo, 1B
- Jorge Soler, RF
- Mike Olt, 3B
- Javier Baez, 2B
- Welington Castillo, C
- Edwin Jackson, P
A suspiciously regular-season-plausible lineup right there, excepting perhaps Welington Castillo behind the plate. Is it a clue about where we could see guys like Castro/Rizzo/Soler landing in the lineup? We haven’t yet seen them in precisely that order, I don’t believe, so it’s interesting.
Still, it’s just a Spring Training lineup on March 19. I doubt anything is set just yet. Hell, with Joe Maddon at the helm, I doubt the lineup will be “set” on April 5.
