Is anyone else ready for Garza to be traded so we can stop seeing the "ZOMG HE PITCHES TONIGHT! THE CUBS ARE GOING TO TRADE HIM TODAY 'CUZ HIS NEW TEAM GETS ANOTHER START!!!!!!!!!!!"?

Weekend:

What singer-songwriter wrote the Cubs postgame anthem, "Go Cubs Go"?

Monday:

What Cubs catcher was called "Chris" by his parents because he was born on Christmas Day?  Additional clue: He wore number 25 for the Cubs in 1965 and 1966 in a nod to his Christmas birthday.

Chris Krug?

Correct, Everett Ben "Chris" Krug.

Unfortunately for him, a fairly famous female tennis player came along and ruined his nickname.

I think we have the answer for why he knows all of this stuff.  Apparently, proper quoting is a holy endeavour then.

Interesting fact from Wikipedia since I never heard of the guy; after retiring, he got into designing baseball fields and was the designer of the "Field of Dreams"

Krug?  Wow... that's cool!  He sure blew as a major league catcher.
