That's great to hear. To me, the success of the prospects just beyond the top 4 can really determine the future of the cubs.

Be it in trade or playing for the cubs, Panigua, Alcantara, Volg, Johnson, Szcurzezeze, Lake and Vizcaino can have a huge impact putting the cubs over the top in one way or another.

Man, listing those 7 guys, while excluding the big four and (former top prospects) Bjax and Vitters, really makes me feel good about our farm.

Aren't those his DSL stats?  He should be pitching that well against kids five years younger than him

Paniagua needs to get stretched out and promoted to full season ball ASAP. Ideally, he'll make it to high-A or AA by the end of this season. He needs to start in AA in 2014. Because of his difficulties with his birth date and obtaining his visa, he's far too old to be pitching in Boise.

If his first start in Arizona is any indication, he won't be here long. He dominated in a 3 inning stint. So, the fact that he went 3 innings (4 Ks and no walks) tells me he's been throwing a lot somewhere. Hopefully he won't have to be stretched out much and can progress quickly. He looked awfully good. Hope to see him one more time tonight or tomorrow. If he is as dominant, it will be interesting to see where he goes from AZ.

Hopefully, he doesn't lose his momentum.
