I absolutely hated Gregg the first time he was with the Cubs, I was glad to see him go.  When they picked him up a second time, I said "I'll have some of whatever Theo is smoking!".  He proved me wrong, and provided a modicum of stability to a craptastic bullpen.

He has now outstayed his usefulness, and I would like to see the auditions for closer of the future begin, starting with Strop.  Trade Gregg for whatever you can get.

Goodbye Kevin, thank you for your service. Now, GTFOH!

6.30 era in July, 2.10 WHIP, he's walking a lot more guys and striking out a lot less.  He is back to pitching like the Kevin Gregg we all remembered from his first run.

I'm not sure anything has changed other than the strike zone.  When he was doing great the pitch on or just off the black was being called.  When those pitches are called balls it's a whole different ball game for him.

Bring on laser strike zones already!

Well at least him starting to suck will open up a spot for Marmol as the closer... Oops

Bring on laser strike zones already!

That's just one step away from Sharks with lasers...

You say that like it's a bad thing.  Can't be any worse than goats with beer.

Good point.  He does not hit nearly as many batters.

This is correct, unfortunately, more batters hit him.

He was missing his spots tonight. Sell as high as possible.  Bless him for stabilizing the bullpen in wake of Marmol being Marmol and Fuji's injury, but it's time to see if Blake Parker or Pedro Strop can handle closing duties.
