I want to say that I fully support the King Regent of the Calendar Trivia Empire with all my heart and soul.

It would be in your best interest to do so, too.

Got a little bit of brown stain on your nose old buddy.

Those who are aligned with The Empire, shall receive it's benefits and protection.

Fuck it, I've changed my mind.  The errant apostrophe blew it for me.

Doesn't it work there?  The Empire (it) owns the benefits and protection.

Have I not been generous in giving you guys the points you need?  I just handed out thousands of points to all of you today, you should be grateful I am willing to share the limited resources I have with you above and beyond your needs.

Did you just "let them have cake" to us?

Maybe...wait, that'd require present suffering due to a lack of points while I wallow in delectable goodness.

The possessive form for it is "its".  Possessives for pronouns are different than object possessives.  Something owned by him is his.  Something owned by it is its.  Something owned by her is hers.  They're atypical.

Object possessives take the apostrophe.  Something owned by Joe is Joe's, something owned by Phil is Phil's, etc.

"It's" is an abbreviation for "it is", much like "he's" is an abbreviation for "he is".

And I probably have the types/titles of the different cases ("object possessives"?) incorrect, but the location and use of the apostrophes isn't.

Just don't let me catch you using an apostrophe to make something plural.  That makes me ill.

Yes, Joe fucked up.  No doubt about that.  A real shocker. Now, can we go back to Manny Trillo or something?

Huh, after you explained that, I remember learning that at some point and it makes sense as to why.

In defense of Joe and to paraphrase the great Lee Elia:

"...If you wanna rip somebody, rip me. Rip my fuckin' ass. But don't rip Joe 'cause he's givin' everything he can give. And right now he's tryin' to do more than God gave 'him, and that's why he makes the simple mistakes. That's exactly why..."
