There was no baseball for the Taylors today.
The Wife and I hung out in the Great American Ballpark vicinity all afternoon today with it never really looking like baseball was going to be played. I’d be more annoyed if we weren’t with friends, but I do think it’s a little crummy how long the Reds waited to call this one. The weather forecast was a little spotty, sure, but the field looked like a disaster and it literally never stopped raining from noon on.
It was a rare sellout crowd for the Reds, so I’m sure they weren’t too keen on canceling.
No makeup has been announced yet, but the Cubs return to Cincinnati July 20-22, with an off-day on the 23rd. The Cubs also have to make up their April 7th rainout with the Cardinals. Off-days are going to disappear quickly.
Jake Arrieta didn’t fully warm up for this one, so he’ll just go as normal tomorrow. That’s your good news from an otherwise rain-soaked day.
