What are the possibilities he comes back? His numbers seem to seem some of the better at first and he should be fairly inexpensive.

I'd put it at no better than 25%. He could be relatively expensive for a non-superstar, aging 1B.

I'm going to say 10%. I think the ship has sailed on Carlos. He wants to get paid, and the Cubs have been looking at other options since the end of the season. His market will probably come after Fielder signs.

I think the percentage is on the lower end as well. Maybe 20% or so. I think they would rather have the extra draft pick at this point.

Is Bryan LaHair the leading candidate at this point?

Even if he's technically the "best" in-house option right now ... there's just no chance he's the starting 1B next year.

...right?

Brett, I wouldn't say there is NO chance he's the starting 1B. He was our Minor League Player of the year right? I don't think we can write him off just because he is 29 and finally having success. He would certainly cost less than the other two primary options people are talking about. I'd certainly wouldn't be against signing Kotchman as insurance and letting him split time with LaHair to see if he can do it on this level for longer than his call up period. All that would be 1B money can then go towards SP and Cuban OF's

 - It's a great day for a ballgame, LET'S PLAY TWO!
