I'd put it at no better than 25%. He could be relatively expensive for a non-superstar, aging 1B.

Even if he's technically the "best" in-house option right now ... there's just no chance he's the starting 1B next year.Is Bryan LaHair the leading candidate at this point?

Brett, I wouldn't say there is NO chance he's the starting 1B. He was our Minor League Player of the year right? I don't think we can write him off just because he is 29 and finally having success. He would certainly cost less than the other two primary options people are talking about. I'd certainly wouldn't be against signing Kotchman as insurance and letting him split time with LaHair to see if he can do it on this level for longer than his call up period. All that would be 1B money can then go towards SP and Cuban OF's
