So the followIng are locks as far as I'm concerned: Red Sox, Yankees, Brewers, Phillies, Braves. This mean there are three divisions that are still open:

NL West - Diamondbacks seem to be locked in, but those Giants are pesky and came from behind this late last year.

AL West - this will come the final series of the year a real toss up Rangers or Angels?

AL East - Tigers should be able to win this but they have a history of stumbling at the end, but does anyone think the Indians or White Suxs have a legitimate chance?

Diamondbacks, Rangers and Tigers. That was easy, next question. :)

It's going to be a pretty unexciting September, which is perfect for folks (like me) who advocate expanded playoffs.

I think the Rangers/Angels race will go down to the final series, and I think the winner will have some serious momentum mojo going into the playoffs

I think the Indians could also make a Giants' like run into the post season. Other than that, I think the AL West is the only race that will be worth watching.

If the Giants sweep the D-backs this weekend, I suppose it puts them back in the race. Short of that, though, the West is over.

With that mighty Giant offense, I dont see how they can possibly sweep the D-backs. Unless of course the Cubs send Rodrigo Lopez to AZ.

Unless the White Sux can produce an unlikely miracle come back with 9 outs to go, they will go the way of their $56M namesake on the jersey of #32...they're DUNN / DONE!

Enjoy your double dip tomorrow in Twinkie-land Sux. After this emotional series AND let down in Mo-Town, you boyz will be lucky to split.

The AL Central is all but numerically decided.
