He did it again.
For the second straight night, the Cubs played late into the evening, and Starlin Castro walked them off with a hit. I have the feels and the smiles.
Jon Lester’s stuff looked much better tonight, and he worked seven efficient, quality innings. The Cubs managed no runs while he was in the game, though, getting to Anthony DeSclafani in the first inning (30 pitches) without actually scoring. But David Ross came through late with a hustle double and scored on a Dexter Fowler sac fly.
The Cubs’ bullpen held the Reds down, including Jason Motte loading the bases with no outs and then getting out of it, and Edwin Jackson and Brian Schlitter both contributing to the win.
