I say we start a petition drive at whitehouse.gov to get Spriggs on Twitter.  Who's with me!

The Cubs were born on March 27, 1902, when the Chicago Daily News referred to the Chicago National League Ball Club as the Cubs for the first time.  The Cubs would debut 20 new players that season, as the fledgling AL attracted many NL veterans by paying higher salaries.

Who was the SP leader in ERA that season?

Is the answer a Cub? If it is, I will go with Carl Taylor. I think that was his big year.

Just make sure you use the .gov and not the .com.

That is less a fact than a guess as when they were actually started to be called the Cubs. To my understanding it is not exactly known when they were started to be called the Cubs.

I looked up the answer on FanGraphs because I had no clue so I won't venture a "guess". Oh, they have them down as the Orphans still for 1902.

CB, I'd say you're on thin ice there with your blatant calendar bashing. A little more respect is in order, in my humble opinion.

(looking for a few points here, Hans)

The answer is always a Cub.  I have no idea who Carl Taylor is.

I would give you all of Tim's points, but he is in the negative, by A LOT!

Isn't it Jack Taylor?  Did I just correct Spriggs?  WTF is going on here?

And if I recall, Jack Taylor was traded to the Ackey's (That's what my 17 month old calls them) for Three Finger Brown and then traded back to the Cubs for their Championship years.
