......Baker got a break on that last pitch to ARam.   It was high and outside, but no damage by the resulting fly to right.  Nothing impressive in the pitching itself here in the beginning of his baptism, but maybe just getting out of that 1st inning was enough----------for now.

....a quicker, better inning for Scott Baker.  It has to be noted though that a couple batters helped by swing at some "bad" pitches......but that doesn't diminished the good feel that must have come from that for Baker AND all us watching.

All the worry about Baker and it's the regular vets who've been playing that have let the lead evaporate.  Thoe who want one more loss to help positioning for a higher draft pick next year should be feeling good.....but it ain't over yet.
