When the Cubs last played in the World Series, who was their opponent?

finally, a decent one:

Monday:

Who was the Cubs first MVP award receipient?  What was the official name of the award?

I will not dignify the weekend question with a response.  I find it beneath me...

I will hazard a guess on Monday's

Heinie Zimmerman and The Chalmers Award

Bonus: 1912

Weekend: Detroit Tigers (wasn't this just in one of the questions a couple of weeks back?)

Monday: Bud "Tobacco Tooth" Weed

Monday: Bud "Tobacco Tooth" Weed

The Tigers were the team the Cubs have beat in the WS (both 1907 and 1908).

Monday: WRONG

I think we had this one before.  The MVP was "Wildfire" Schulte.  Or maybe he was just the answer to some other question.  He's my guess either way.  Bonus points: 1911

Frank (as in, frank is another word for honest) "wildfire" Schulte is correct.  It was the inagural year for the award as well.

Edit: It was in 1911.
