As I started to look at how many times each team sacrificed, a number in the next column jumped out at me, Hit by Pitch. When I sorted, what stood out was:
- Cubs were 5th on the list with 67
- 3 of the top 6 teams were heavily skewed by 1-2 players getting hit often (like Choo)
- 4 of the top 6 teams were in the playoffs
- and most glaringly, 5 of the top 6 are from the NL Central
I wonder if that means the NL Central is just more willing to pitch inside, or what?
