The box score won’t show it, but Kyle Hendricks actually pitched very well today. Two dribblers and a blooper in a row in the first inning would have been three outs most days. Today, they all went for hits, and the Reds put together a four-run first. That was all they needed, as the Cubs couldn’t do much against Mike Leake. Well, couldn’t do much except hit the ball very hard right at guys – I know you’re probably tired of hearing that, but I can only tell you what happened. Not that Leake pitched poorly, mind you … I wouldn’t mind if the Cubs pursued him this week.
