The final post of the #BNBlogathon is actually just a normal Pre-Gamin’ post. Fine by me – the Trade Deadline has passed, and it’s time to get back to baseball games. They are kind of important to the Cubs these days.
That’s why it was nice to see the Brewers deal Gerardo Parra and (to a lesser extent) Jonathan Broxton away today. After parting with Carlos Gomez last night, the already-not-great Brewers are even more softened. Obviously that doesn’t always translate to wins, but it usually doesn’t affirmatively hurt.
Jason Hammel takes the ball for the Cubs, and he’s still looking for his first post-hamstring injury start where he looks like himself. He opposes Taylor Jungmann, who’s actually been quite good this year.
Enjoy the game – I won’t be around to watch it with you, because I am going to bed. No EBS after tonight’s game, though Luis should have a recap of sorts for you tomorrow morning.
