I am currently blogging – here, on Facebook, and on Twitter (hash tag #BNBlogathon for those who want to jump into the fray themselves) – for 38 hours straight, until slightly past MLB’s July 31 non-waiver Trade Deadline, thanks to your generous donations to Make-A-Wish. I’ll be doing recaps on the process throughout the day, but you’ll also see normal posting (Bullets, news, Pre-Gamin’, EBS), as well as a significant uptick in rumor/trade posts.
After catching up this morning, I can settle into the meaty middle of the day. Previous recap here.
Total Posts So Far:

News and Rumors Since the Last Recap:
The Cardinals made a deal for Brandon Moss, presumably to help replace Matt Holliday.
Most Interesting Tidbit Since the Last Recap:
Probably this:
MLB executives are absolutely convinced #Tigers David Price will wind up with the #Dodgers, who likely will have to part with Urias.
— Bob Nightengale (@BNightengale) July 30, 2015
I can only assume that the “MLB executives” part did not include the Julio Urias part. He’s such an overwhelmingly awesome prospect, it’s impossible to imagine the Dodgers giving him up just to get two months of Price, even if they hope to extend him.
Current Thoughts About the Chicago Cubs’ Trade Deadline Strategy/Execution:
I still think a rental starting pitcher is the most likely deal by tomorrow. Bench bat also possible. Bullpen arm also possible.
Current Beverage/Stimulant of Choice:

(You can thank The Wife for that one, by the way. Saw it at the store, grabbed it for me.)

Strangest Thought Passing Through My Mind:
I’m trying to figure out the best way to cover rumors that are either thinner or tangentially-related to the Cubs. Normally, I’d do a Lukewarm Stove, but those take a long time, and too much can happen while I’m putting it together. I guess super short versions? Normally, I wouldn’t feel like that provides enough reader value, but I might not have a choice. Too much going on.
