I REALLY hope this is someone just being dumb and not someone who is actually dumb:

Elaborate hoax to try and prove the earth rotates. Other science proves earth does not rotate as such the video is fake. Theories also differ on moon travel; whether the moon takes a month, or travels around earth every day with the start as observed. (e.g. geocentric model)

Wow.  The comments on that article... ugh.

I gotta tell you, I thought that video was badass.  I saw it on Bad Astronomy yesterday.  I love how the idea to take the pictures in the first place was kind of a lark, kinda like you would if you were on a road trip.

That video is obviously fake, since there's no music in the vacuum of space.

Ya, that video was sweet.  I do love everything NASA and the like are doing in space right now and I really wish they'd get more funding.  Conversely, I really hope the Mars One project keeps on keeping on.

Although, if you ever have the need to feel depressed, google "expanding Earth theory".

Ya, that stoopid astronomer who left the boombox on.

Eventually Mankind will be forced to migrate to a new home on Mars before Earth grows to the size of Neptune. Today's global warming is an early warning to Mankind.

Awesome.  (http://www.expanding-earth.org)  I don't think they know what "empirical" or "evidence" actually mean.

This insanity reminds me of the hour I spent looking at the "moon landing was a Stanley Kubrick film" websites last year during a slow afternoon.  It's amazing what folks can convince themselves of.

Let's see here, it took Earth 4 billion years to get to the size it is now.  Neptune has the volume of 57 Earth's so, in 228 billion years, mankind will have a problem with the Earth being the size of Neptune.

Yup, that'll be the only problem.

Now, if we take, what appears to be, their estimation for the age of the Earth at 250MY, and that in that time the Earth grew by .6 Earth's and we assume that growth rate continues, in 23.7 billion years, the Earth will be the size of Neptune.

Yup, that'll be the only problem.

But wait, in one part of the page they say that 200 MYA the Earth was 40% the size but another part says 60%.

Ahhh, rounding errors.
