For a Friday we will go with an easy peasy one.  That makes me wonder, in Shawshank Redemption, Brooks says:

"Yup and easy..."  When he is in the library explaining the process to Andy.

What does he say next?  I have seen Japaneasy.  Given the age of Brooks and the timeframe of the movie, racism wouldn't be out of the question.  But I don't know.

Anywho.

Who was the last pitcher to No-Hit the Cubs?

Sandy Koufax

I know it had been a long time since the Cubs got No-hit and I was curious what the other active records look like.  Found this article and it shows just how surprising the cubs no-hit streak has been.

Yup, it is quite the streak, especially given the fickle nature of baseball and the crap the Cubs have put out over the last 40 years.

Although, that means that every time the Cubs don't get a hit in the first inning we get to hear about The Streak

Who are the Pitchers this year who could end the streak?

You better Dance, you better live, you better love with a sweet romance. While you still have the chance, I think you better Dance.

Given the way the Cubs roster looks... All of them.

It piss me off more than any other team doing it, but i could see a Cardinal pitcher doing it, Wainwright especially.  Homer Bailey is another one I could see doing it.

If Joe Kelly does it I'll contemplate suicide.

The whailing and gnashing of teeth around here would be immense.  The Cubs would be better off giving up the game with 2 outs in the 9th and folding the franchise.

Garza also has a chance of doing it because his throwing errors to first on bunts do not count as hits.

I can see the headline now:

"Garza No-Hits the Cubs but Loses 17-4 on 43 errors."

Here she is, the Shawshank Prison
Library. Along this side, we got
        the National Geographics. That
        side, the Reader's Digest Condensed
        books. Bottom shelf there, some
        Louis L'Amours and Erle Stanley
Gardners. Every night I pile the
cart and make my rounds. I write
down the names on this clipboard
here. Well, that's it. Easy, peasy,
        Japanesey. Any questions?
