* denote being left off a rating service

Some notes and explanations. I created a mean average by simply giving the #1 ranked prospect 100 points and then proceeded to descend the number from there. There are actually 136 players named with some kind of ranking from the five services which actually tells you that with a possibly 501 spots there is only a deviation of 35 players where 17 players were mentioned by only one service, while 15 players were mentioned by two rating's services. Sixty-seven (67) players were mentioned by all five, which are players I consider to be in the actual Top 67, 11 mentioned by four of five and seventeen were mentioned by three of the four.

As for Cub fans, Baez is solidly ranked #4, though #2 shortstop prospect, Bryant is 11th and 2nd ranked 3B prospect. Almora is ranked 23rd while Soler hits 40th, Edwards is 60th, Alcantara is 76th and the second to last ranked prospect by all five services. Pierce Johnson falls to 102nd, due in part by not being at least ranked 96th by ESPN and/or MLB, though six of the seven are rated by all five services with only Pierce Johnson not getting mentioned by Keith Law.

What does this tell someone? Well in subjective analysis that uses a combination of empirical data and eye tests based on an imprecise method of methodologies combining rankings removes bias and aberrations. I think is is a better list to view value of prospects being traded for or moved in acquisitions.

Finally I could almost expand this to 160 named prospects because Keith Law wrote about ten who missed, and then go through 2013 and see who were named then but not now and place a value on them in descending order.
