Kyle Schwarber is an all-out effort kind of guy, so we’ve already seen him take his fair share of tumbles and dives and crashes in the outfield. So far, it hasn’t cost him a shoulder or the Cubs a wall.
But it seems Schwarber is not immune to the indignity of falling even when he’s not on the field of play.
To wit, a foul ball last night in the 9th sent Schwarber toppling in the dugout, yielding humorous results:
Ah, the half-serious “I’m OK” / half-sarcastic “Yeah, I did that” curtain call wave.
The ball didn’t hit him, he didn’t hurt himself on the fall, and he gave his teammates in the dugout and fans in the stand a good laugh. All in all, that’s a win.
Schwarber also singled and doubled in the game, scoring twice and driving one in. That was also good, I guess.
