2. he actually came to blows with teammates...including D-Lee, who put the "back" in laid back
3. Zambrano's velocity has dropped consistently over the last few years...
4. In five post season starts for the Cubs...he did not win any games and had 1 good outing.....0-2 with a 4.35...35 hits in 28 innings...
5. more than likely(this is not just based on stereotype) he is a little older than he says...when he came up I heard Jimmy Piersall who was working as a minor league instructor for the Cubs at the time say of Zambrano "he's been 19 for 3 years!"
6. he has a career .949 fielding percentage for a pitcher...crappy...
7. he is selfish...cared more about hitting BP homers than his pitching
8. even if he has a great year for Ozzie...it won't end well...people do not change that much, and Zambrano refused any real help(psychological) that the Cubs tried to give him
9. the notion of hanging on to him to get max value at the trade deadline was not realistic...how could Svuem, Theo, Jed...any of these guys have any cred with "culture change" if this guy was still here?...sends a great message...he was a toxic asset
10. Tebow bless us, Cub fans are loyal...I know we like our guys...but we get too attached...I love that Ramirez and Zambrano are gone.... and Jerry Angelo!...

*sigh*
Shrug.
Whatevs. Like I posted on the front page (yeah, I was actually active out front today!), at worst, it's a net-zero move by the Cubs. At best, we've got a young pitcher who's a couple of couple of corrections away from his first-round promise, cost controlled for three years.

This is about as much as we could hope for. Of course Z will probably get 20 wins next season but I don't care anymore. He was a cancerous growth in severe need of lancing. Good riddance. I'm more concerned with how the OF is going to shake out.
