I always loved the passion and fire Big Z brought..he seemed to genuinely want to win more than anyone else did.. If only he and ARam could have evened each other out more..

He was a character and he was entertaining. Although, I swear he was ALWAYS pitching whenever I made my way to a Cub's game. He was the Matt Clement for me after Clement was gone.

...but my favorite Zambrano moment (by far) was a fastball straight into the thigh of Jim Edmonds in a Cubs-Cards game. He had hit Edmonds earlier if I recall correctly, then Edmonds took him deep in second AB. I distinctly remember the next at-bat. About two seconds before the pitch, the catcher (don't remember who) gave the signal.
Me: "You recognize that signal?"
Me: "Fastball. Right Thigh."
Let's just say he hit his spot...and he was walking to the dugout before the ump even threw him out. We had a good laugh and still occasionally joke about the "Fastball. Right Thigh" signal...
